ColdFire x LA Family Farms - Red Z x Zamosa - Cured Resin Juice Cart - 1g
Red Z x Zamosa is a one-gram ColdFire Juice cart of cured resin, made with LA Family Farms, a Los Angeles grower and frequent ColdFire partner. Half the cross is documented: Weedmaps credits LA Family Farms with breeding Zamosa, a Zkittlez x Mimosa hybrid that ColdFire previously sold as a cart of its own. Red Z, the other half, has not been published by anyone. Look for citrus and sweet fruit from the Zamosa side, with a floral lean on the batch certificate. By its parent's reports, it is a hybrid for social afternoons.

Genetics & Lineage
Start with the half that has paperwork. Weedmaps' Zamosa strain page names LA Family Farms in Los Angeles as the breeder, gives the cross as Zkittlez x Mimosa and calls the result a balanced hybrid. ColdFire released a straight Zamosa cart with the farm before this one, and Weedmaps lists that cart with the same parents and the same hybrid label.
Red Z is the blank. Neither ColdFire nor LA Family Farms has said what it is, who bred it or whether it descends from Zkittlez, though the farm's ColdFire run leans hard on Z names: Blue Z, Peach Z Pie, Z Pie, Killer Zkittlez and Zkittle Banger among them. Other strains could answer to the name, including Lit Farms' Red Zkittlez, which SeedFinder lists as The Original Z x Red Velvet. Nothing published ties any of them to this cart.
The partner's standing is easier to document than the cross. At the 2025 Zalympix, LA Family Farms' Orange Drip took first place overall, plus best tasting and best terps from the industry panel, according to cannabis writer David Downs. That is a flower award for a different strain, not for this cart.
Flavor & Aroma
ColdFire has published no tasting notes for Red Z x Zamosa. Its earlier Zamosa listing describes bright citrus and sweet watermelon over an earthy base. Weedmaps' Zamosa strain page adds tangy orange peel over a slightly funky undertone and a crisp lime finish, which sounds like the Mimosa side.
The lab adds a twist. The SC Labs certificate ColdFire posted for a batch reported October 5, 2026 puts linalool first, then beta-caryophyllene, limonene and humulene, with bisabolol, best known from chamomile, further down. Weedmaps credits Zamosa's character to caryophyllene and myrcene; here myrcene misses the top six entirely, and linalool, the floral compound behind lavender's scent, leads. On paper, that points to citrus with a softer, more perfumed edge than the Zamosa write-ups describe, and pepper underneath.
Effects
For the Zamosa parent, Weedmaps describes an uplifting, euphoric start that settles into full-body calm without heavy sedation, with a clear, creative head, and calls it well suited to social settings. The earlier Zamosa cart carried euphoric and uplifted tags. Nobody has published effect notes for Red Z, so the cross could lean either way.
A fair expectation is a hybrid that starts in a good mood and stays functional in small amounts. Reviews of this cart are thin so far. Dry mouth is the common complaint; keep water handy and space your pulls out.
Best For
- Brunch and long lunches: Mimosa is in the family tree, and citrus runs through the descriptions
- Zkittlez fans: Zamosa, a documented Zkittlez cross, paired with an unpublished partner
- Social afternoons: Zamosa's write-ups lean upbeat and easygoing rather than heavy
- Floral palates: linalool leads the certificate, with citrus and pepper behind it
Not for: anyone who wants the whole pedigree on paper, a heavy nightcap, or a fan of gas and OG funk over fruit.
Pairings
Food: lean into the name with fresh orange juice and a late breakfast, or a square of focaccia from Liguria Bakery before it sells out. Music: Anderson .Paak's Malibu, or Vince Guaraldi's Cast Your Fate to the Wind for a hometown touch. Activity: a few pulls at home, then a walk down to the Embarcadero and along the water to the Ferry Building.
Hardware & Extraction
ColdFire makes Juice carts in two styles, and this is the cured one. The brand's own explainer draws the line at the starting material: live resin begins with flower frozen at harvest and kept frozen through extraction, while cured resin begins with flower dried and cured in sealed containers first. ColdFire describes live resin as brighter, with sharper top notes, and cured resin as rounder and more classic.
Both styles go through the same process, per ColdFire: single-pass extraction below minus 100 degrees Fahrenheit, single-source oil, and no distillate, additives or cutting agents. The cart is ColdFire's full-ceramic 510 hardware, supplier unnamed. LA Family Farms' exact role is not spelled out, though ColdFire describes its collab drops as made with cultivators it chooses.
Dosing
New to it: one small pull and a ten-minute wait. The second pull can always come later.
Regular user: a few pulls spread over the afternoon keeps it light and social.
Heavy tolerance: a longer session works, but stay at low voltage; scorching takes the floral top notes first.
Storage
Upright, capped, at room temperature and out of the sun. ColdFire's FAQ says the fridge is fine if the cart is sealed in an airtight container, as long as it warms back up before you open it. Skip the warm car, where heat thins the oil.
