Alien Labs - Planetary OG - Pre-Roll - 1g

Alien Labs' Planetary OG is a one-gram straight-roll pre-roll of indoor flower, sold as a single and labeled a hybrid. It is the brand's tribute to old-school OG Kush, named in a nod to the planetary cuts: Mars OG, Jupiter OG and Saturn OG. Alien Labs promises nose-stinging gas and a heavy, euphoric punch, and its Weedmaps tags add pine, earth and wood underneath. If you came up on OG, this gram smells like home.

Genetics & Lineage

Alien Labs has not published the cross, on Weedmaps or on alienlabs.org. It does share the reasoning: OG Kush is the king, plenty of early fans found the brand through Mars OG or Lemon Fuel OG, and this strain is meant to bring that era back. Leafly lists Propane Valley x Area 41 but cites no source, and Alien Labs has not confirmed it. Area 41 is an Alien Labs strain, Lemon Fuel OG x Gelato #41 by the brand's listing, and the brand files Lemon Fuel OG as the original OG Kush, clone only. Planetary OG has since become a parent itself, in Alien Labs' 2026 release Psyop: (Planetary OG x Runtz) x Dark Web #9.

The planetary cuts are OG Kush relatives named after planets, and their origins are murky. Leafly calls Mars OG a spacey Bay Area indica and says planetary refers to plants started indoors and finished outside. Its Jupiter OG page lists OG Kush as the parent, and Saturn OG, by Leafly's account, comes from undisclosed OG Kush genetics. Treat them as inspiration, not confirmed parents.

One name check: Dime Bag sells a greenhouse Planetary OG labeled indica. Nothing links it to this joint.

Flavor & Aroma

Gas comes first. Alien Labs describes a gasoline funk sharp enough to sting, and the Weedmaps tags fill in the rest: diesel and pungent up top, pine, earth and wood underneath, citrus and a little sweetness on the finish. The brand prints no terpene list for this one.

For a preview, look to the old cuts. Leafly reviewers pick pungent, pine and earthy for Mars OG and swap the pine for lime on Jupiter OG, and Leafly's data puts limonene on top for both. That fits the lemon-peel edge cutting through all the fuel.

Effects

Alien Labs keeps its effect notes short: a heavy wave of euphoria. It also pushes back on calling OGs indicas, since in its view they are balanced hybrids. The Weedmaps tags split the difference: euphoric, happy and tingly, then relaxed and sleepy. Leafly has only one reader report on Planetary OG so far, but the namesake cuts have deeper files, and they run heavy: Mars OG and Jupiter OG reviewers lead with sleepy, relaxed and tingly.

So plan on a mood lift first and a body that gets heavier as the gram goes. Dry mouth and dry eyes top the complaints for those cuts, with dizziness and some paranoia behind them. Smoke it slowly and keep water nearby.

Best For

  • OG loyalists: classic fuel and pine, none of the dessert notes crowding most menus
  • Longtime Alien Labs fans: a callback to the brand's Mars OG and Lemon Fuel OG days
  • After dinner in North Beach: a slice on Columbus first, then this at home as the night winds down
  • Movie night: euphoric for the opening credits, settled by the second act

Not for: early mornings, fans of fruit and candy flavors, or a light smoker planning to finish the gram alone.

Pairings

Food: something salty and garlicky to stand up to the gas, like the clam and garlic square at Golden Boy Pizza. Music: Dr. Dre's The Chronic, or whoever is playing jazz on Columbus that night. Activity: a slow loop of Washington Square Park at dusk, then a movie at home with the lights off.

Construction

A straight roll keeps one width from the lit end to the filter instead of tapering like a cone. Metrc lists this as an Alien Labs 1g Straight Roll, 25 to a case, and we sell them singly. It is plain flower, with no kief, oil or infusion. Alien Labs' Weedmaps listing for this joint says the brand rebuilt the standard gram from the inside out: straight sides and a three-stage grind it calls proprietary for an even pack and burn, a wider 10mm filter for a cooler pull, and a spiral tip to cut down on clogging. Those are brand claims, not our measurements, and no paper is named. Connected's straight rolls carry the same copy, which tracks: Connected calls Alien Labs its sister brand, and the two share a breeding and cultivation program. Alien Labs is Ted Lidie's brand, based in Sacramento and growing indoors in California and Arizona.

Dosing

New to it: one or two small pulls, then give it ten minutes. The heavy part arrives late.

Regular smoker: a third to half the gram covers an evening. Tap it out and save the rest.

Heavy tolerance: the whole thing, after dinner, with nowhere left to go.

Storage

Keep it sealed, cool, dark and dry, in its packaging or an airtight container. Gas and citrus fade first when a joint sits warm or open, and they are the reason to buy this one. Finish it within two weeks of opening.
