PLUGplay EXOTICS - Guava Burst PLUG - 1g
PLUGplay EXOTICS - Guava Burst PLUG - 1g
Press play on the tropics. PLUGplay sells Guava Burst as a trip to the islands; what is in the pod is closer to a cold can of pink guava nectar with a citrus edge and a hard-candy finish, and it tastes nothing like flower. It is a one-gram magnetic PLUG from the EXOTICS line, labeled hybrid like every EXOTICS pod, with no published cross behind the name. It only runs on PLUGplay's PLAY battery, sold separately.

Genetics & Lineage
No cross to report, and that is the accurate answer. Metrc carries this as a PLUGplay EXOTICS vape named Guava Burst, and the brand's listing copy calls it an Exotics strain without naming parents or a breeder. PLUGplay, the Los Angeles brand that launched its pod system in 2017, runs three PLUG lines. DNA pods carry strain names, sorted Daytime, Nighttime and Anytime. LIVEST is live resin from fresh-frozen plants. EXOTICS is the flavor-named line, which the brand calls "natural and true to exotic cannabis strain terpene and cannabinoid profiles" and labels hybrid across the board. The name also collides with flower: Weedmaps ties the listing to its Guava strain page, which covers a Stardawg and Afghani cross from Flavour Chasers and a Gelato phenotype from the Cookies camp, and Strainpedia lists a Guava and Starburst cross. PLUGplay has confirmed none of them. Read the name as a flavor, not a pedigree.
Flavor & Aroma
Guava first, candy second. From The Earth's menu describes bold guava with a candy-like finish, Weedmaps tags the listing tropical, berry, citrus and sweet, and The Flower Company files the aroma under floral, fruit and funky. Put together: pink guava nectar on the inhale, a citrus edge in the middle, and a berry hard-candy sweetness that stays on the tongue. The floral, slightly musky note is what makes it read as guava and not fruit punch. Nothing in it tastes like cannabis: no gas, no pine, no hash. PLUGplay publishes no terpene list for it and does not say whether the flavor terpenes are cannabis-derived or botanical. If sweet pods wear on you by the half-gram mark, this one will too.
Effects
Guava Burst is new and customer reviews are thin, so this leans on the brand, retailers and tags. PLUGplay's own copy is all islands and energy. From The Earth describes an upbeat, euphoric head with a light, relaxed body, pitched for daytime and social use. Weedmaps tags uplifted, euphoric, relaxed and creative. That adds up to a middle-of-the-road hybrid: mood up, conversation easy, shoulders loose. The oil is high-potency distillate, so it lands fast and peaks early. The usual negatives for a strong pod apply: dry mouth, dry eyes, and a racy, anxious edge if you stack pulls because it tastes like candy. Two short pulls. Wait ten minutes. Then decide.
Best For
- PLAY battery owners who want fruit: a flavor pod for the battery already in your pocket
- People who dislike the taste of weed: guava candy from first pull to last
- The climb to Coit Tower: two pulls at home, then the Filbert Steps up Telegraph Hill while the lift is fresh
- A night on Columbus Ave: a short session before dinner or a set at Cobb's Comedy Club
Not for: anyone with only a 510 battery, shoppers who want strain-true cannabis flavor (see the DNA and LIVEST pods), or new users who take long pulls.
Pairings
Food: salt against the sweet. A square of focaccia from Liguria Bakery on Washington Square, or a wedge of salty cheese, because guava and cheese is a classic. Music: warm and bouncy. Bad Bunny's Un Verano Sin Ti with company, Getz/Gilberto on a quieter night. Activity: a lap of Washington Square Park, a browse through City Lights Bookstore, or the walk down to the Embarcadero.
Hardware & Extraction
A PLUG is a closed magnetic pod. No battery inside, no 510 thread, so it will not fit a standard cart battery. It only works on PLUGplay's PLAY battery; Gemme Verdi stocks the PLAY Battery Kit under Accessories. Peel the sticker off the underside of a new pod and drop it in; magnets seat it. PLUGplay's FAQ says five presses of the power button turn the battery on, and the brand rates it at 500mAh and more than 350 puffs per charge. It recharges over USB. Retail menus file Guava Burst as a distillate pod. PLUGplay's site does not go into the extraction method, the terpene source or the coil, so the claims stop there. For a clog, the brand's fix: warm the pod in your hand, then pull while holding the button.
Dosing
New to pods: one short pull, two seconds or so, then set it down for ten minutes. The candy flavor makes the next pull too easy.
Regular vaper: two or three pulls is a session. Leave a minute between them.
Heavy tolerance: longer pulls, back to back. Past a certain point more pulls add dry mouth, not altitude.
Storage
Keep the pod upright. PLUGplay's guidance is a cool, dark place away from temperature extremes, and it blames heat for leaks, so a parked car is the wrong home. Keep empties out of the kitchen trash: California treats spent cartridges as hazardous waste, and PLUGplay runs a take-back program called JUST RECYCLE with the waste company GAIACA.

FAQ
Is Guava Burst an indica, sativa or hybrid? Hybrid. PLUGplay labels every EXOTICS pod a hybrid, and retail menus list Guava Burst the same way.
Is Guava Burst a real strain? Not one PLUGplay has documented. It names no parents or breeder and has not tied the pod to the Guava or Guava Burst flower other breeders grow.
What does it taste like? Sweet pink guava with a citrus edge and a berry hard-candy finish. Nothing like cannabis flower.
How strong is it? A high-potency distillate pod, much stronger per pull than flower. One or two short pulls is a working dose.
What is Guava Burst good for? A social afternoon or early evening when you want fruit flavor and a light, upbeat hybrid.
Will it work on a 510 battery? No. A PLUG has no threads and no battery of its own. It only runs on PLUGplay's PLAY battery.
What is the difference between EXOTICS, DNA and LIVEST? EXOTICS pods are flavor-named hybrids. DNA pods are strain-named and sorted Daytime, Nighttime and Anytime. LIVEST is live resin from fresh-frozen plants.
