Wizard Trees
Wizard Trees - Smoothie - 3.5g
Wizard Trees - Smoothie - 3.5g
For this jar, Wizard Trees went back to one of its first strains. The Los Angeles indoor brand crossed its original Smoothie into Zangria, the candy parent behind a long run of its crosses, and kept a cut that stacks strawberry on top of Zangria's sweetness. The brand ranks the flavor among the best strawberry profiles it has found, and says the effect sits near the top of its lineup for strength, closer to an old chem strain that puts you in a chair than to the light fruit the name suggests. Choose it for strawberry candy with real weight behind it, and plan to stay put.

Genetics & Lineage
Smoothie x Zangria, per Wizard Trees. The Smoothie parent is one of the brand's earliest strains; its listing does not name that plant's parents, and we have not found them published by the brand. Zangria is better documented. It is a Zkittlez x Thin Mint GSC cross credited to Fiya Farmer and Wizard Trees, and the brand has used it as a parent again and again: Zang Banger, Limelight, Gas Gimlet, British Delight, ZOZA, Tea Party and Jungle Juice all carry it, per the Wizard Trees site. The brand says this cut stood out early in its pheno hunt. One caution if you look it up: Weedmaps' strain database lists two other Smoothies, a Kosher Kush x Banana Split from Spain's Pure Instinto and a Blueberry x Somango from an unlisted breeder. Wizard Trees has not linked its Smoothie to either, and the banana-forward notes attached to the first are not what the brand describes here.
Flavor & Aroma
Strawberry first. Wizard Trees puts strawberry on top of the Zangria candy base and likens the whole thing to a strawberry smoothie, which is where the name earns itself. The Zangria side is well known on its own: Fiya Farmer lists its notes as Zkittlez, dough and gas, and one reviewer described juicy berry with a hint of tea. A March 2026 review of Wizard Trees' Smoothie on The Highest Critic heard floral, creamy and tropical notes and a tang like fruit yogurt. The buds are bright green and thick with trichomes, per the brand. No terpene panel is published for Smoothie. The tested potency for this lot is on the jar label.
Effects
This is the part the brand leads with. Wizard Trees rates Smoothie's effect among the strongest on its roster and compares it to the old chem strains known for sitting people down, while the flavor stays clean and fruity. Take that at face value. Expect a lift in mood first, then a heavy, seated calm that arrives sooner than a fruit strain's name would suggest. The Highest Critic's reviewer found it euphoric and relaxing, with pressure behind the eyes, and thought it could work in the daytime for winding down without going lazy; the brand's description argues for evening. Dry mouth and heavy eyes are the usual trade. If you are sensitive to strong flower, halve whatever you normally smoke.
Best For
- Strawberry fans: a clear strawberry note over candy, not a generic fruit blend
- Evenings in: the brand compares the effect to a chem strain that keeps you in your seat
- Smokers with a tolerance: Wizard Trees warns it can flatten people who think they have seen it all
- Zangria fans: another branch of a parent the brand keeps coming back to
- Dessert after dinner: sweet enough to stand in for it
Not for: newcomers, busy afternoons, or anyone expecting a light fruit strain.
Pairings
Food: dinner at Tony's Pizza Napoletana, then home before you open the jar. Music: Frank Ocean's Blonde, start to finish. Activity: an afternoon on the grass in Washington Square, and the jar once you are back on your own couch. For another Zangria cross with blueberry in place of strawberry, try Wizard Trees BlueBanger.
Cultivation
Indoor, from Wizard Trees, a Los Angeles brand. Smoothie shows how the brand works: it keeps its early strains, crosses them into its core parents, and hunts for keepers in-house. Pheno hunting is also how it made its name. RS11 was picked from a hundred-seed Rainbow Sherbet hunt with DEO Farms. A 2022 High Times profile described Scott, who leads Wizard Trees, scaling from a 12-light setup to a 100-light facility, switching from hand-watering to irrigation, learning to manage VPD, temperature and humidity, and building his own nutrient line, NPKaliPro, with friends. A genetics arm now sells Wizard Trees seed in the US and Europe. Details of the current grow are not published.
Dosing
New to flower: one puff, then wait fifteen minutes. The brand is not exaggerating about the weight.
Regular smoker: a small bowl or a half-gram joint, seated.
Heavy tolerance: a gram in the evening, with nowhere to be.
Storage
Keep the jar sealed, cool and dark. Strawberry top notes fade quickly in heat and open air, and a humidity pack keeps the frosty buds from drying out and burning harsh.

FAQ
Is Smoothie an indica or a sativa? A hybrid on paper. The brand describes a heavy, sit-down effect, so treat it as an evening strain.
What is the lineage? Smoothie x Zangria. The original Smoothie is an early Wizard Trees strain whose parents the brand has not listed; Zangria is Zkittlez x Thin Mint GSC.
Is this the same Smoothie as the one on strain sites? The brand has not linked them. Weedmaps lists two other Smoothies, one of them a banana-forward Spanish cross, and Wizard Trees has tied its plant to neither.
What does it taste like? Strawberry over candy, with a creamy note one reviewer compared to fruit yogurt.
How strong is it? Near the top of the brand's lineup for strength, by its own account. Start small.
What is Zangria? A Zkittlez x Thin Mint GSC cross credited to Fiya Farmer and Wizard Trees, and a parent in a long run of Wizard Trees crosses.
Why rebuild an old strain? The brand wanted a new version of one of its favorite profiles, and crossing to Zangria added candy to the strawberry.
Is it good for daytime? Not unless your day is over. The effect lands heavy.
