Genetics & Lineage

KK numbers its strains, and Point Breeze is K5: KK x Gastro Pop on the brand's own strain page and its Weedmaps listings, and Leafly agrees. STIIIZY hosted the official release at its downtown Los Angeles flagship on March 7, 2025, with Wiz on hand to meet fans who had lined up before dawn.

The first parent is KK itself, the OG developed for Wiz in the early 2010s, whose own parents the brand has never published. Gastro Pop comes from Compound Genetics, a cross of Apples & Bananas and Grape Gas, per SeedFinder. It circulates in several numbered cuts, including the clone-only #5, and as S1 seed, and KK has not said which it used. KK credits Compound as its partner on Khalifa Mints, and Gastro Pop already appears in Violet Sky, Khalifa Mints x Gastro Pop.

The name comes from Pittsburgh. Point Breeze is the neighborhood where the Khalifa Kush company started and, per KK, is still based.

Flavor & Aroma

KK's notes: grape bubblegum and classic diesel when the buds are broken up, then KK's gas on the inhale and a berry-candy finish the brand credits to Gastro Pop, with a smooth burn and white ash. It lists myrcene, limonene, beta-caryophyllene and linalool. Myrcene gives the earthy, musky base, limonene the bright top, caryophyllene a peppery edge, and linalool a floral note. SeedFinder's Gastro Pop entry runs the same way: gas and skunk over grape, apple and banana, with candied berry underneath.

Reports from the jar lean gassier. Leafly's reviewers taste diesel, blueberry and cheese. The Fat Nugs reviewer found mostly gas on opening and once ground, and tasted gas and dank in joints and bowls; a table vaporizer brought the fruit forward. The buds are big and purple-tipped, and KK rates the resin "ten outta ten sticky."

Effects

KK pitches Point Breeze as a lift that starts at the top of the head and floats you back down slowly, gently enough to keep the day moving. Leafly's small pool of reviewers leads with creative, euphoric and uplifted.

The landing is where accounts differ. The Fat Nugs reviewer found it heady and intense without being overwhelming, and sedating enough to keep her on the couch. That split fits the parents: KK's strong OG head on one side, and on the other a Gastro Pop line SeedFinder describes as a happy, relaxing head and body high. Expect the lift first and leave room for a heavy finish.

Dry mouth and paranoia are the complaints Leafly users raise. Take it slow until you know which landing you get.

Best For

  • Gas-and-grape fans: KK's OG fuel up front, grape bubblegum and berry candy behind it
  • Afternoons with loose plans: the brand built its pitch around a lift that lands gently
  • Dry herb vapes: one reviewer found the fruit side shows best in a vaporizer
  • KK collectors: K5 in the family, named for the brand's home neighborhood

Not for: a first-timer going solo, anyone who gets anxious on strong, head-first strains, or a morning that needs real focus.

Pairings

Food: a slice at Tony's Pizza Napoletana, then a cannoli from Stella Pastry for the candy side. Music: Mac Miller's Blue Slide Park, since Miller grew up in Point Breeze, or Wiz Khalifa's Rolling Papers. Activity: smoke at home, climb the Filbert Steps to Coit Tower, and take the long way down, roughly the arc the brand describes.

Cultivation

Metrc lists this jar as Khalifa Kush Flower 3.5g Point Breeze, packed 16 to a case, with no producer named. KK's current Metrc items for its namesake strain name Reefer.Farm, a California operation that presents itself as a farm-direct wholesaler of brands grown in the state. Neither KK nor Reefer.Farm has published who grows Point Breeze or where. California menus sell it as indoor flower.

The packaging takes its look from the whale shark, the largest fish in the ocean and, as KK points out, one of the slowest.

Dosing

New to it: one small pull or a pinch in a bowl, then ten minutes before more. The lift comes fast; the landing takes longer.

Regular smoker: a bowl or a half-gram joint carries an afternoon, and the jar covers several of those.

Heavy tolerance: a full-gram joint, ideally with nowhere to be in case it lands heavy.

Storage

Keep the jar closed, cool and dark, and never in a warm car. Grape and berry are the delicate top notes; limonene and linalool evaporate faster than caryophyllene, so an open jar loses the candy before the gas. This flower is sticky, so break it up with a grinder rather than your fingers to keep the resin on the buds.
