Alien Labs - Biskante - Pre-Roll - 1g
Biskanté is Alien Labs' cross of Melonade and Biscotti #6, rolled here as a one-gram straight-roll pre-roll of indoor flower and labeled a sativa-dominant hybrid by the brand. Alien Labs spells it with the accent; our menu, like Leafly, writes Biskante. The pitch is Biscotti's cookie flavor with extra sugar and only a hint of lemon, and Leafly senior editor David Downs scored a California jar 95 out of 100 in fall 2024. Next to BK Satellite, it is our daytime Alien Labs pick.

Genetics & Lineage
Each half of Melonade x Biscotti #6 has its own story. Melonade brings the citrus. Leafly credits it to the breeder Midwest Best, who crossed Watermelon Zkittlez with Lemon Tree, and SeedFinder's Midwest Best page describes the same cross. Lemon Tree descends from Lemon Skunk and Sour Diesel, and Watermelon Zkittlez carries the original Zkittlez, which is why Leafly's review sums up the family as Lemon Tree, Z and Biscotti. Leafly lists Biskanté among Melonade's offspring, though Alien Labs has not said whose Melonade cut it used.
Biscotti is the cookie half, and who made it depends on whom you ask. Connected, Alien Labs' longtime partner, says it created Biscotti in 2016 from Gelato #25 and South Florida OG; Leafly credits Cookies Farms with the original breeding. The #6 marks one particular selection, and Alien Labs has not described what set it apart.
Flavor & Aroma
Alien Labs is unusually frank about this one. Its lemon crosses usually come out loaded with lemon, the brand says, and Biskanté does not: it keeps the sweetness, turns the citrus way down and lands on a Biscotti-style cookie flavor with, in the brand's words, "a pound of sweetness." The three terpenes it lists, limonene, caryophyllene and humulene, read as citrus, black pepper and dry hops.
Not every taster finds the lemon so quiet. Downs smelled lemon and tropical candy over Biscotti's gas in the jar, then got tropical lemon and watermelon once it was lit, which sounds like Melonade speaking up. Leafly's strain page lists chestnut, grapefruit and a chemical note, with limonene on top, and the Weedmaps tags stretch from lemon, lime and tropical fruit to nutty, berry and vanilla. Call it a sweet cookie with a melon-and-citrus top that varies by batch and by nose.
Effects
On effects, the brand only says the high matches its sativa-dominant label. Leafly's reviewers get more specific, with happy and giggly near the top of their list, and the page calls the high mostly energizing. Weedmaps tags euphoric, uplifted, giggly, tingly and relaxed. The parents point the same direction: Leafly's Melonade page describes a mood-lifting daytime strain, while its Biscotti page lists relaxed and tingly near the top and warns the effects can build gradually.
Expect laughter and a lighter mood up front, a loose body underneath, not a racing head. Anxiousness, dizziness and dry mouth lead Leafly's complaints for this strain, so pace the first few pulls.
Best For
- Daytime in the neighborhood: a walk down Columbus Ave toward the Embarcadero as the giggles arrive
- Biscotti fans who want daylight: the cookie base of Connected's Biscotti with a brighter, sweeter top
- Smokers who find lemon strains too sharp: citrus in the background, not a mouthful of lemon peel
- Good company: the giggly first hour suits a blanket in Washington Square Park with friends
Not for: falling asleep, anyone chasing a big lemon punch, or someone new to strong flower planning to finish the gram solo.
Pairings
Food: an espresso at Caffe Trieste with a cookie on the side, or cold watermelon for the Melonade half. Music: Getz/Gilberto for the sunshine, or Louis Prima for a little North Beach swagger. Activity: the shelves at City Lights, a slow climb to Coit Tower, or the Embarcadero at ferry time.
Construction
One gram, one width, no cone: that is the straight roll in a sentence. Our Metrc manifest carries it under Alien Labs' 1g Straight Roll item, and we split each case of 25 into singles. The filling is ground flower alone: no kief, concentrate or infusion. For the build, the source is Alien Labs' Weedmaps listing for this straight roll, and we pass it along as the brand's account rather than our own testing: a three-stage grind of the brand's own design, straight walls for an even pack and a steady burn, a wider 10mm filter for a cooler, smoother draw, and a spiral tip to keep it from clogging. The listing does not identify the paper.
Connected calls Alien Labs a longtime partner and says the two brands have run the same breeding and cultivation program for years.
Dosing
New to it: one or two pulls, then a ten-minute pause. Let the first wave set your pace.
Regular smoker: a third to half of the joint keeps the lift going without tipping into jittery.
Heavy tolerance: the whole gram, plus a plan that keeps you moving for the next couple of hours.
Storage
Store it sealed, somewhere cool and dark. The citrus and melon top notes are the fragile part, and a joint left on a sunny windowsill loses them first and smokes flat. Smoke it within two weeks of opening.
